Rene Almanza, one of today’s references of the new Mexican art scene, ended his first European tour of exhibitions with an solo show at Seize Galerie, in Marseille, France. Rene showed a brand new collection of drawings, which he produced while staying in Barcelona, city that also received one of his shows, in July.
The line is the main character in his pieces. They are quite simple – Rene wants everyone to understand their messages. Despite the simplicity, he wants to illustrate images that go beyond the esthetic part: they should stimulate the viewer to think about it, analyze it more than just one glance.
The new collection mixed indian ink drawings on cotton papers and medium size lithographs. Many of these artworks have been sold, but some of them are still available on Suben website, agency that promotes innovative Latin emerging artists. Check it out.
