Guerra de la Paz is a Cuban duo who lives and works in Miami, Florida, creating cozy and warm sculptures and installations. That’s because the works by Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz are made of all kinds of discarded clothes, bringing to their work all the histories of the ones who once used the garments.
Dolls, rainbows, plants, animals and even atomic explosions are reproduced with jackets, blouses and pants gathered by the artists, who ably conciliate textures and colors.
According to both artists, the intention of their work is to highlight the large amount of trash produced by contemporary societies, increasingly influenced by material culture.
