Starting on August 4th, the Jonathan LeVine Gallery receives the group exhibition Two-Way Street, which features four talents from Brazilian urban art scene: Chivitz, Nove, Presto and Ramon Martins. The exhibit’s title is a reference to a partnership firmed in 2007 between Jonathan LeVine and Choque Cultural, a Brazilian contemporary art gallery.
The four artists were selected by Jonathan LeVine himself while visiting Brazil on early 2010. According to Baixo Ribeiro, associate-curator from Choque Cultural, the intention of the cultural exchange between galleries is to reveal new talents internationally, which has been a successful initiative and already disclosed to the American audience artists like Titi Freak, Carlos Dias and Stephan Doitschinoff.
